Richard Yong, CEO/CFO

 

Richard Yong is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Miltrade Technologies, where he oversees the financial performance, growth objectives, and future fiscal trajectory of the company.  Richard joined Miltrade in 1999 and has been instrumental in the successful execution and growth of the company. 

Over the course of his career in Miltrade, Richard spearheaded the infrastructure and capacity expansion to perform in-country technical and logistical support services for major OEM partners in the defence industry.  One of his early initiatives was in the development of component repair capability of cockpit multifunction displays for F16C/D.   That formed the foundation for more complex and extensive MRO services that Miltrade provides to its customers. 

Prior to joining Miltrade, Richard held concurrent portfolios in the Unicorn/Singapore Technologies that consisted of business development and managing special air charter operations under Pacific Flight Services.  Value of programs won during his tenure amounted to US$700m included precision guided munitions, air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles, heavy-lift and attack helicopters; first fleet of F16 fighter jets. Richard was also the Deputy GM of the air charter division responsible for medical evacuation charter and target towing for navy and air force gunnery training. 

From 1982 to 1990, Richard served in the RSAF as an Air Defence Controller.  He was a pioneer Weapon Systems Officer on the RSAF E-2C ‘Hawkeye’, where he received training by Grumman Aerospace in 1985/86 at Long Island, NY, and from the USN at Miramar Naval Air Station, CA in 1986.  Richard had over 1,000 flight hours in the E-2C and flown as Mission Commander.    

Richard received his bachelor’s degree in Commerce on International Business and Marketing from University of Tasmania, and his professional marketing qualification as a graduate from Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK).
