Wan Chee Kong, Sustainment

Chee Kong is Head of Sustainment at Miltrade Technologies, with a focus on business development in the defence sector with regards to spares supply, repair management, and logistics support of mission critical assets. He also leads a team in partnership with RENK USA (formerly L3Harris CPS), to support ST Engineering in the sustainment of the SAF's Bionix Infantry Fighting Vehicle. The services include transmission repairs, spares supply, and remanufacturing. This successful program, ongoing since 2019, has generated significant cost savings for both ST Engineering Land Defence Systems and HQ MES – SAF.

Chee Kong joined Miltrade in 2003, and was the technical lead in the successful set up (and eventual operations) of Miltrade's avionics workshop for depot level repair of cockpit displays from F-5 and F-16 fighters. The total number of F-16 multi-function displays repaired exceeded 300 units over a period of 5 years. He also secured the contract to design, develop, test and build 10 inch ruggedized touch screen displays for maritime patrol aircraft applications. Chee Kong also managed and grew a multi-year repair and overhaul program in partnership with IEI, a US-based repair agency, for aircraft mission systems including fire control radar, electro-optics, and aircraft transponder/interrogator systems. The combined value of repair and spares supply contracts accounted for more than S$20m over a ten year period.

Prior to joining Miltrade, Chee Kong served in the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) for 7 years as a F-16 Technical Specialist. His primary role involves supporting the F-16 Fighters Communication and Navigation systems.
